Drying Linum
This spring I tried sowing blue linum (green manure) on a little slope in my kitchen garden. After a few weeks the slope was filled with beautiful green grass, topped with tiny, blue flowers.
In august the flowers had turned in to small balls, which are the seed capsules. I remembered that I had seen such dried linum used for decoration, so yesterday I harvested it all, and tied bouquets for drying in my greenhouse. I gave the bouquets a little twist to let in air, and used hemp thread for tying. It was such a joy working with!
Hopefully I'll have time for making a beautiful wreath, like this one from kilnesgard.no, for Christmas this year!
